23 Feet Of Colour
I recently completed one of my favourite projects to date, and one of my biggest canvas’ yet! Sized 23*10 feet, the client had requested for an Abstract painting of a Kathakali male dancer. Kathakali is a “story play” genre of art, but one distinguished by the elaborately colorful make-up, costumes and facemasks that the traditionally male actor-dancers wear. So, this painting was pretty detailed, and the face of the dancer had to stand out as well!
To be honest, I initially did underestimate the size, and it was only until I saw the canvas did I realise what I had challenged myself into! 🙂
I spent exactly 3 nights, 3 days working on this project. Up till 4am every night, and back to work at 11am the next day! Only because I myself was excited to see the final result. That’s honestly the best part about what I do 🙂
Here a few pictures of the work in progress, and the final result as well!
